O Fado é Maria da Fé

Maria da Fé is one of the founders of the restaurant Sr. Vinho. Born in Porto on 25 May in the 1940s, she began singing Fado at the age of nine. Honoured with the most prestigious awards from radio, television and press critics, she received the Amália Award for Best Fado Performer in 2006.

Maria da Fé's discography is extensive; she has recorded numerous albums, and her name features in almost all Fado collections. Her greatest hits include “Cantarei Até Que a Voz Me Doa”, “Valeu a Pena”, “Primeiro Amor”, “Divino Fado”, “Fado Errado”, “É Mentira”, “Obrigado”, among many others. Throughout her career of over 50 years—celebrated in 2009 with performances at the Lisbon and Porto Coliseums—she has performed in the world's most prestigious venues.
