Filipa Cardoso

Filipa Cardoso was born on 18 April 1979 in Lisbon.
At the age of 10, she sang in public for the first time at a cousin’s wedding.

At the age of 15, she was heard and invited to sing at the traditional house “Taverna do Embuçado”, where she became a daily presence. At the same time, for 8 months, it was also possible to hear her at another venue, “Taverna d’el Rey”, both in the Alfama district.

In 2004, she entered the Grande Noite do Fado in Lisbon. She won that night at the São Luiz Theatre and became a notable presence in the country's leading Fado houses, joining the resident cast at Sr. Vinho.

Em 2007, participou no Festival RTP da Canção, num dueto com Edmundo Vieira com a canção “Desta Vez”.

In recent years, she has been performing at the Teatro Politeama in numerous shows, earning acclaim and several awards for her portrayal of Severa in 2019.
