Filipa Cardoso

Filipa Cardoso was born on April 18, 1979 in Lisbon.
At the age of 10, she sang in public for the first time at a cousin's wedding.

At the age of 15, she was heard and invited to sing at the traditional fado house “Taverna do Embuçado”, where she became a daily presence. At the same time, for 8 months, it was possible to hear her in another fado house, “Taverna d´el Rey”, both in the Alfama neighborhood.

In 2004, she competed in the Grande Noite do Fado, in Lisbon. She won this night, which took place at the Teatro São Luiz and became a notable presence in the country's leading fado houses, having become a fado singer in Sr. Vinho's private cast.

In 2007, she participated in the RTP Song Festival, in a duet with Edmundo Vieira with the song “Desta Vez”.

In recent years, she has been performing on stage at the Teatro Politeama in numerous shows, having been acclaimed for her performance as Severa in 2019, and receiving awards for it.
